My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Malachite is a very chill, calm, and affectionate dog who has been a beloved companion for the past four years and is being surrendered due to owner illness. He’s a cuddly guy who loves attention, happily greets new people by sniffing and settling in close (often sitting on feet!), and enjoys playing—especially with teenage kids and other dogs who want to run and chase. Malachite is well-trained and responds to sit, down, stay, come, heel, and place/home, walks nicely on leash, and does great being left alone, typically relaxing with a nap and some calming music. He’s friendly with other dogs, respectful of cats, easygoing at the vet, and has no bite history or medical issues. While grooming isn’t his favorite and he may try to avoid baths or nail trims, his gentle, easy nature shines through in daily life—especially when he’s snuggled up with his favorite stuffed elephant or enjoying a car ride with his head out the window.

1.
Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

You can submit an application anytime and receive an auto response with instructions. It is first come first served for in person adoptions.

2.
Submit Application

Our application creates your profile in our system and tells us a little about you.

3.
Interview

Our interview is an open discussion about everything we know about the pet and how it matches to your family and expectations.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

You will use your mobile phone (or our computers) to sign the adoption contract.

5.
Pay Fee

You will use your phone (or our computers) to pay any adoption fees. Credit/Debit cards only we do not accept cash or check.

6.
Take the Pet Home

We are able to send most pets home the same day as their interview. If they still need to have spay/neuter surgery it will be scheduled ASAP

Before you Arrive:

Make sure your apartment is pet-friendly. Check with your landlord about pet policies.

To make the adoption process go a little quicker, here's a list of what to bring:

-An ID with current residence, or proof of residence if it is out of date.
- Any family members or roommates to meet the animals
