Housetraining Progress
Javik is currently learning to be housetrained and continues to make progress every day.

Compatibility with Other Pets
He is good with both dogs and cats. Javik is especially curious about cats, often trying to get close enough to sniff them, though he never quite manages to do so.

Crate Training and Name Recognition
Javik has been crate trained and responds to his name.

Background
Javik was found alongside his sister, Kasumi, when they were about four weeks old and suffering from a mild upper respiratory infection (URI). Now, they are healthy and happy two-month-old puppies who enjoy running around and exploring their surroundings.

Personality and Behavior
Javik loves to play and wrestle with his sister as well as his older fosterer’s dogs. He is learning that the world is a vast and big place, but he feels confident exploring if someone is watching over him.

Favorite Activities
He enjoys playing with squeaky toys, crinkle toys, and chew toys. Javik is very active, so after running around and playing, he needs a long nap to recharge.

Affectionate Habits
Javik loves to follow and watch what everyone is doing. If you’re standing at the sink washing dishes, Javik will lay on your feet napping until you are free and can play with him.

Submit Application

If you see an animal you would like to meet, complete our online application. You will receive an email with the next steps.

2.
Meet the Pet

Visit the facility where the animal is located. If in foster care, the foster will set up a time to meet with you.

3.
Sign Adoption Contract

One of our adoption counselors will review the animal's medical history and walk you through the paperwork.

4.
Pay Fee

Our adoption fees include spay/neuter, vaccinations and microchip.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Once the adoption process is complete, you can bring your furry friend home!

Our mission is to provide the programs and services needed to eliminate the killing of at-risk animals due to lack of space, adopter or foster.

San Antonio Pets Alive! is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Due to alarming euthanasia rates, San Antonio Pets Alive! (SAPA!) was founded in 2012. SAPA! is unique—it is the only high paced, high-volume rescue in San Antonio, saving 6,000 at-risk cats and dogs annually.

Since its inception, SAPA! has saved more than 47,000 dogs and cats. SAPA! provides safety nets for the dogs and cats that fall through the cracks of all other lifesaving options and end up on the euthanasia lists, often with just hours to be saved. SAPA! promotes the availability of these dogs and cats to other rescues, adopters and fosters.
