My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jake! 🐶✨

Jake is a young, happy-go-lucky Chi mix with a serious talent for couch bouncing and expert-level snuggling. His favorite hobby? Being as close to his human as physically possible—lap, side, or tucked under the covers like a tiny burrito.

He’s energetic and confident, strutting around with his head and tail held high, but at heart he’s a cuddle bug who just wants to be near his person. Jake would be perfectly happy as an only dog or with other pups, though truthfully, humans are his true obsession.

Jake loves treats, is a great eater, and isn't much of a barker. He’s still polishing his potty-training skills and is learning by following his foster brothers. Fair warning: Jake is also a certified food thief and has been known to casually walk off with a scone or two.

At night, Jake sleeps with his 14-year-old human foster sister and insists on being under the covers—because blankets are life. He’s ready to ring in the new year in a forever home full of love, laughter, and unlimited snuggle time.

More about this rescue

We are a non-breed specific dog rescue group, although we do tend to take in mostly large and extra-large breeds, and especially those in the hunting / sporting groups.

Love for Paws exists to protect and advocate for dogs in our community through responsible adoption, the donation of supplies and veterinary care to those in need, by assisting in the effort to limit the overpopulation of these animals and by promoting kindness and healthy opportunity for life.
