Thank you Calhoun's Jewelers for sponsoring a portion of my adoption fee! If your ideal Saturday involves a morning jog followed by a spirited game of fetch, Trixie is your girl! This 3-year-old Lab/Husky/Shepherd/Terrier mix is a 10/10 on the personality scale. She's a "go-getter" who has been learning new things in our HHHS training classes and a favorite among our volunteer runners.
Trixie has a fun, athletic playstyle-she loves a good game of "chase and be chased" with a side of wrestling. While she's a social butterfly, she's realized that the "big pack" life isn't for her (5 roommates was a crowd!), and she prefers having her own space to recharge with her humans.
The Trixie Checklist: Kids: She's been around them and gets very excited to meet new friends! Dogs: She enjoys playmates who match her high energy, but loves her "human breaks" too. Small Pets: Trixie has a bit of a prey drive, so she'd prefer a home without cats or tiny pups. Hobbies: Jogging, toys, and showing off her training skills!

HHHS has been a permanent part of the Topeka community since its founding May 4, 1938. The organization is incorporated as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) business for the purpose of sheltering companion animals in need of care, advocating for anti-cruelty protection of animals and promoting humane education and animal welfare issues. HHHS fosters the adoption of companion animals into responsible homes and reunites lost animals with their owners; promotes sterilization of animals to help reduce overpopulation; provides a facility accessible to the general public; serves the community with educational programs addressing animal welfare issues; and maintains a fiscally responsible organization.
