Meet Boco! The sweetest, fun loving six-month-old pup who’s named after the friendly green diesel engine in Thomas & Friends. This little Boco is “green”, too, in the sense that he’s still a young puppy who is relatively new to this world. And diesel engine…well, yes! He has that go go go puppy energy, but he will also happily cuddle up next to you when you get him to put the brakes on.
Boco has yet to meet a furry friend he doesn’t like and has gotten along great with both his big and little foster sisters. He’s especially interested in his foster family’s kitten, but steers clear of the adult cats as he’s learning that they may not like to play as much as he does. He’s also still learning his potty training habits, and is doing well on a routine of going out first thing in the morning. He sleeps through the night in his crate, no accidents!
Boco has a good appetite, so his strong food motivation will help with future training. He enjoys going for walks and is still getting the hang of his leash. Like most puppies, he loves to explore. So many smells, so little time! He also loves to play with toys, and his puppy teeth really enjoy chewing a benebone.

Located in central North Carolina and officially established in 2004, Saving Grace has placed over 15,000 dogs into homes since its inception. These dogs were from rural animal control facilities with little resources and who would otherwise not had the opportunity to receive necessary veterinary care and a chance at adoption. While we have grown significantly over the years and have been successful growing our numbers we still see many great dogs miss the opportunity of adoption.
We have a large variety of dogs varying in breed, size, shape, age and needs and would love to work with you to find you a great dog companion while providing a dog in need with a loving home. Our dogs are chosen based on temperament and socialization. We get some of the most charming, unique mix breeds as well as some striking purebreds. Our dogs come from rural, underserved areas and while they may have little experience as an indoor family member, they have the temperament and personality that is sure to bring much love and appreciation to their new home. Most have started their crate training while in our program. Veterinary care including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test, vaccinations, monthly preventatives are provided prior to each adoption.
