A little more about Elizabeth- she is affectionate and extremely sweet, but in the shelter environment she is soooo scared. She shakes in her kennel and will not walk on a leash. Our team has to pick her up and carry her because she is so unsure what is going on. At this time, Elizabeth is a rescue only pet, meaning she must be transferred to one of our approved rescue partners. Our team will continue working with her to help her gain confidence and know that she is safe.
RESCUE ONLY-
I am a VIP Rescue Only Pet at AAS! Animals are evaluated individually by experienced team members on behavior deeming them ready to go up for adoption or by being marked as rescue only. Rescue only animals, are not ready or safe to be placed in our adoption mall for the general public. Based on evaluation, rescue only behaviors could include but are not limited to: growling or showing teeth, fear submission which could result in a fear bite, aggression to other animals, or a medical issue needing extensive care or treatment to be provided by a rescue partner.
