**Koda is a courtesy listing, please contact Shelby Nabholz to inquire about Koda.**
Koda is located in Cape Girardeau, MO (2 hours south of St Louis)
Koda is a 7-year-old male German Shepherd who has been loved by our family since he was a puppy. He is neutered, well-mannered, and incredibly loyal to his people. Once he bonds with you, he is a faithful companion who truly wants to be by your side.
He is gentle and respectful in the home, and has a calm, obedient demeanor while still being an active, energetic boy who enjoys staying busy enjoying exercise and playtime. He would thrive in a home where he can get regular exercise and have a strong bond with his owner. He is fully house trained, leash trained, and crate trained, and he knows all common dog commands. He listens well, is eager to please, and does best with clear communication and consistency. Koda is wonderful with children and has lived comfortably with our 7-year-old daughter. He is also good with other animals and has successfully lived with another dog and a cat, showing respectful and calm behavior in a shared home environment.
This decision has been heartbreaking for our family. Due to pregnancy, I developed a pet dander allergy, and Koda also has allergies that require ongoing medication. Unfortunately, we are no longer able to afford the care he needs or provide the environment that’s best for him.
Our only goal is to see him placed with a loving family who can give him the attention, activity, and care he deserves. He has so much love to give and will make an incredibly devoted companion to the right home.

More about this rescue
Founded in 2005, we are a volunteer home-based rescue group run by dedicated volunteers. Our dogs live in volunteer homes as family members with the same love, care and attention they would receive in an adoptive home.
We provide training, socialization, vet care and evaluation for all of the dogs in our care. All of our dogs are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
GSDRI is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization licensed by the state of Iowa.
