My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sister! 🤍🐾

Sister is a beautiful 1.5-year-old terrier mix, weighing 42 lbs, with soulful eyes and a heart that’s been through far more than any dog ever should. She’s had a very rough life, but despite everything, this resilient girl remains gentle, sweet, and so deserving of real love.

She wants nothing more than a safe, patient, and truly caring forever home where she can finally relax, heal, and learn what it means to be cherished. Sister may need time to fully trust, but once she does, her loyalty and affection shine bright—she has so much love to give.

Sister is ready to leave her past behind and start a new chapter filled with kindness, comfort, and the security she’s been waiting for her whole life.

🤍 Sister is ready for her forever family—a loving home that will show her she is safe, wanted, and adored every single day. 🐾

More about this shelter

The Gulf Coast Humane Society is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization dedicated to serving the animals and community of Southwest Florida. We receive no federal, state, or county funding, nor do we receive financial support from the Humane Society of the United States. Instead, our lifesaving work is made possible through the generosity of individual donations, grants, bequests, and community fundraising efforts.

As a no kill shelter, Gulf Coast Humane Society is committed to providing compassionate care for unwanted, neglected, and abandoned animals. We never euthanize due to space constraints or the length of time an animal has been in our care. Our mission is to give every animal the second chance they deserve in a safe and loving environment.
