Maria is a high-energy, affectionate girl who lives for love and attention! She’s always front and center in her kennel, eagerly waiting for her turn to shine. While she’s quiet with familiar handlers, she can be quite vocal around other dogs and some people—she likes to make her presence known! 📣 She’s easy to leash and remove, but bursts with excitement once she’s out and may pull a bit, so gentle guidance helps. Maria has *zero* personal space bubble—expect happy jumps, lots of kisses 😘, and enthusiastic rolling for pets. She doesn’t know commands yet and could benefit from training and manners, but her sweet, friendly nature and love for people make her a lovable “wild buck” who’s all heart. 🐾✨

Meet and greets with your family dog and shelter dog is encouraged. Dog and cat meet and greets are not allowed.

$80 for all kitten/cat adoptions. $90 for all puppy/dog adoptions. $35 for all rabbit adoptions.

Additional adoption info

The shelter is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, with adoptions closing at 4:30pm. The shelter is closed on Sundays and all government observed holidays.

City of Henderson Animal Care and Control is the only open admission animal shelter in the City of Henderson. We service the City of Henderson and the residents and animals within city limits. Our goal is to find forever homes for all adoptable animals and reunite pets with their people. We work with multiple rescue groups and allow any good adoptee to adopt from our shelter.
