My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

❤️ Toto & Bruno — A Bonded Pair Looking for a Second Chance

Toto and Bruno lost everything in late October when their owner passed away. They were left behind in heartbreaking condition — scared, neglected, and completely alone. Through all of it, the only comfort they had was each other.

Toto and Bruno need an adopter who is truly patient, gentle, and willing to put in the work. They are still very fearful and unsure of the world after everything they’ve been through.

New sounds, new people, and new environments can overwhelm them, and their first instinct is to retreat to their “safe corner” together. Progress will not be overnight — they will need time, structure, and someone who understands that healing for dogs like them happens slowly. With consistent reassurance, quiet routines, and steady love, these two boys will gradually learn that the world can be safe again. They need a calm, stable home and a person who doesn’t rush them, but is committed to helping them gain confidence one small step at a time.

Toto & Bruno are inseparable. They sleep together, follow each other everywhere, and rely on one another after all they’ve survived. Separating them would break their hearts, so they must be adopted as a pair.

If you want to truly change two lives, please consider giving Toto & Bruno the safe, loving home they’ve never had. They are ready for a fresh start together. 💛🐾 They are both currently located in CT.

More about this rescue

Last Chance for Korean Dogs (LCKD) is a non-profit dog rescue organization based in South Korea. We are a 100% volunteer-run organization and we are dedicated to saving dogs from euthanasia in high-kill shelters and the brutal dog meat trade.

After the rescue, we provide the medical care and rehabilitate the dogs at our office, foster homes, and training facility in South Korea until they are healthy enough to be sent for adoption to loving homes in the United States, Canada and Europe.
