Parker was trapped on a local property as a feral cat, and despite our best efforts to befriend him, he has made it clear he prefers his independent lifestyle. He’s a true working cat at heart and would be happiest living in a home environment where he can do his job and keep to himself.
Parker is FIV-positive, so he’ll need to be checked on a bit more regularly than the average barn/spirit cat—mainly to ensure he isn’t developing a URI or getting into fights with other outdoor cats. FIV is spread only through deep bites, and while it can shorten lifespans in some barn cats, many live long, comfortable lives, especially with occasional monitoring as they age.
What Parker lacks in fondness for people, he makes up for in work ethic. He’s a dedicated pest-controller who only asks for consistent dry food, fresh water, and a safe working place to call home in return for his hard day’s work.
