Meet Dalia! — a sweet, gentle girl with a heart that’s just waiting to bloom! Dalia comes across as a bit timid at first, but don’t let that fool you—once she feels safe, her personality starts to shine. She was loose and social with staff and seems like the kind of dog who may just need a little time and patience to fully warm up. We expect her to be on the moderate-to-lower energy side, though she may open up even more in a cozy home environment. On leash, Dalia is easy to get in and out of her kennel and walks along nicely, with just a bit of pulling. She can be startled by sudden noises (like a door closing), but she recovers quickly and keeps going like a champ. She showed no reactivity to other dogs walking by her kennel or while passing dogs in the hallway—very polite and composed! She’s still figuring out things like car rides and may be unsure about getting in at first, but once inside she settles well—another sign of her adaptable, sweet nature. Dalia is a lovely, sensitive soul who will thrive with a patient adopter ready to help her build confidence. With a calm home, gentle guidance, and maybe a doggy buddy, she’s sure to blossom into an absolutely amazing companion

More about this shelter
The Humane Society of Charlotte believes in working to improve our community by creating new, loving families, and building a world where there are no more homeless and unwanted animals. This is an ongoing process — for every animal we can connect with a new family, another animal in need comes to HSC’s shelter. As a private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the HSC relies on the generous support of animal lovers, grants, bequests, and fees for service.
HSC is not affiliated with any other animal welfare organizations and we do not receive government funding.
