My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pellets: 1x/day 1/4 cup Adult Oxbow Essentials (AM)
Hay: Unlimited mixed hay (All day)
Salad: 1x/day 1 cup spring mix, romaine lettuce, cilantro, parsley (PM)

Meet Casper, a lively and affectionate bunny with a personality as big as his binkies! Casper is full of energy and curiosity—he loves hopping around, exploring tunnels, stairs, crates, and every cozy corner of his space. He’s an adventurous escape artist, so a well-bunny-proofed home is a must. Casper prefers to free-roam, but he also likes having a home-base pen to return to when he’s winding down. He loves interacting with people, sniffing visitors, periscoping, and charming everyone he meets. He’s a happy, confident bunny who enjoys digging, chewing, and plenty of enrichment to keep him busy. This smart boy is good with his litterbox and enjoys grooming himself, but he’s also a big softie. After playtime, he loves to sploot out and relax while enjoying gentle pets on his forehead, back, cheeks, and behind the ears. Casper is looking for a patient, experienced bunny parent who can give him a safe, enriched environment, plenty of freedom to explore, and lots of love. If you’re ready for a spirited, affectionate, and playful companion, Casper is your perfect match!

Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV) is a highly contagious and deadly disease that affects both wild and domestic rabbits. The virus is causing deaths in rabbits and hares native to North America and is spreading rapidly. In addition to detection of RHDV2 in wild cottontail rabbits and jackrabbits, RHDV2 has been confirmed in domestic rabbits on 50 premises, including a detection in a feral domestic rabbit. Please make sure to vaccinate your rabbits every year. For more information, please visit our website at: https://sandiegorabbits.org/education/rhdv

More about this rescue

We are a volunteer-driven organization working in San Diego County for nearly 25 years. We want to ensure that rabbits are not adopted out unaltered, that they find good homes where they will be cherished as indoor family companions, and that we educate our community on the responsible care of indoor rabbit companions.
