Slate came into the shelter as a surrender with his brother Montana. They are looking for home separately but if someone wanted to adopt them together that would be lovely too! Slate is a very friendly, well-mannered confident boy! He loves to talk and sing with you. He would be good with children, still need to be respectful to the dog. He is very vocal to new dogs/ he barks at them, slow introductions would be best He knows all his basic commands. He has high interest in cats and will chase. People experienced with vocal dogs would benefit him. A fenced in area is a must for Slate because he loves to run around and loves the outdoors. He can be vocal so an apartment environment would not be best for him, a busy or quiet household would benefit him. A normal work week left alone at home would be fine with Slate / He is crate trained. Activity level: is medium House trained: YES Birthday: 12/18/2023

You can stop by the shelter Monday through Sunday from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm.
You may wish to call the shelter before visiting to confirm the location and availability of the animal you would like to meet. The UCHS staff can let you know if the animal is currently at the shelter or at one of our remote locations, such as a foster home, local pet supply store or our Thrift Shop.
