My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Montana came into the shelter as a surrender with his brother Slate. They are looking for home separately but if someone wanted to adopt them together that would be lovely too!

Montana is very friendly, sweet and loves to play!

He would be good with some children; he can jump up and get bouncy when he gets excited!

He would do well with other dogs

He has high interest in cats and will chase.

People experienced with smart, high energy dogs would benefit him.

A fenced in area is a must for Montana because he loves to run around and loves the outdoors.

He can be vocal so an apartment environment would not be best for him, a busy or quiet household would benefit him.

A normal work week left alone at home would be fine with Montana / He is crate trained.

If you are interested in an animal you’ve seen on our website, you can call 519-833-2287 or send an email to learn more about them. You can also stop by the shelter to meet the animal in person. It may take a few visits to find the animal that is a perfect match for you.

You can stop by the shelter Monday through Sunday from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm.

You may wish to call the shelter before visiting to confirm the location and availability of the animal you would like to meet. The UCHS staff can let you know if the animal is currently at the shelter or at one of our remote locations, such as a foster home, local pet supply store or our Thrift Shop.
