My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*JJ is fostered in Bremerton, WA & ready to meet you!*

He's the BEST sidekick! And we can't figure out why he hasn't found his people.

We know that black dogs get overlooked, so here are some AWESOME videos showing just how fun this guy is:

Staff favorite, JJ, says "where is my forever home!!??? I've been waiting sooooo long!"

Our team doesn't understand why this amazing guy hasn't found his happy-ever-after. But we just know his people are out there!!!

JJ was MADE for the Pacific Northwest.

JJ is looking for:

-A home with a nice, regular routine. He is used to the routine of the shelter and boarding facilities, so he's looking for someone who can show him that consistency in a home environment.

-A patient home that understands that JJ hasn't been in a loving home before. In JJ's current foster home, they noticed how normal house things were totally new to JJ. He had never been around a TV... or a vacuum.. or a washer/dryer! Home life is something he's still adapting to so he hopes his family will be really patient with him.

-A family that has adventures built into their routine. Walks, hikes, boating, water sports... JJ is up for them all!

-Someone who will play fetch & tug with him. They are his absolute favorite games! But don't worry, he'll also totally entertain himself too. He also does a good job with puzzles and other enrichment toys.

-Tons of treats & love to help him learn that he is FINALLY home with his forever family!

-A comfy crate to settle in at night and periodically during the day. This boy loves his crate but likes it best when covered with a blanket. It's like his little den!

-A home ready to teach JJ the ropes - new tricks, training, mental games - JJ can master them all!

-A fenced yard the appropriate size for tons of zoomies! JJ much prefers hangin' outside, doin' the sniffs, and checkin' out the squirrels

-Another dog (or dogs) in the home as JJ really thrives when he's part of a pack!

-A Shepherd experienced home. Shepherds are such unique, amazing dogs but take a special kind of owner!

-Older children would be okay, but because of his puppy tendencies, we think he might just be too exuberant for the young kiddos

Here's what JJ has to offer:

-JJ agrees to accompany you on adventures big or small

-JJ agrees to make you laugh with his goofy antics

-JJ agrees to pose for photos and even agrees to be the star of his very own doggy Instagram account!

-JJ agrees to play a good game of tug-of-war on request.

-JJ agrees to approach every day with a zest for life that just can't be beat!

This handsome 2.5 year old Shepherd boy is ready for his forever home in the Pacific Northwest!

JJ was previously boarded at our Three Little Pitties headquarters, so he spent LOTS of time in play yards, playing and socializing with other dogs of all different sizes. He is a GREAT player and loves a good game of tag.

This guy is so happy about LIFE! Everything is fun and exciting to him. Sometimes when he gets really worked up when playing with his humans, he can get a little mouthy like a puppy. Our team works with him on this every single day, and he's doing an AMAZING job. He's just a FOREVER YOUNG kinda guy!

JJ is SUPER SMART and treat motivated, so it's a win all around. He'd love a home that's excited about teaching him new tricks.

Does JJ sound like the right addition to your home? Apply now to meet him!

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is one of the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone! Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no choice but to euthanize animals for space. We prepare them for adoption by properly vetting and providing individualized care through our incredible behavior program that consists of socialization and leash training for all animals that enter our adoption program prior to matching them with loving families who will treasure them for the rest of their lives. They are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts once adopted, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

Three Little Pitties Rescue will soon be celebrating our 5 year anniversary! Over the course of this time, we have been very fortunate for so much growth, allowing us to further connect with the community and save many lives. Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 10,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be brought into our rescue program. Together, we can be heroes.
