Rosco is a resilient 3-year-old who came to Laramie Peak Humane Society in very rough shape. He arrived underweight, suffering from mange, and showing clear signs of past abuse. With dedicated care from our team—and the help of a loving foster home—Rosco has made remarkable progress. His skin is still healing, but he has come a long way and continues to improve every day.
Now I know what you might be thinking... Xoloitzcuintli... this dog has hair. Rosco has the recessive gene which made him grow hair. Because of this, he needs a little extra care with his skin, but we promise he is worth it!
According to his foster mom, Rosco loves pets, food, and going for walks. He is a calmer dog who would thrive in a quieter, lower-energy home where he can continue to build confidence and feel safe. While he can be a bit too pushy with cats, Rosco is a gentle, affectionate dog who is finally learning what it means to be loved. He is ready for a family who will give him the patience and compassion he deserves.

Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet through the Laramie Peak Humane Society. LPHS strives to provide a hassle free adoption process that provides every adopter and potential pet with the best experience possible. If you are interested in adopting a pet, please submit a complete Adoption Application as soon as possible. Your application must include 2-3 references, and your veterinarians contact information. Once received, your application will be processed, references will be checked, and a home visit (excluding cats) will be scheduled at your earliest convenience.
Please note: The adoption process consists of three steps:
1. Complete Adoption Application Submitted
2. References Checked
3. Successful Home Visit completed (excluding cats)
The adoption process takes 24-72 hours to complete. Applications continue to be accepted, and an animal remains “available” until an adoption is finalized. Animals are placed after all 3 steps are successfully completed.
It is our policy to spay or neuter any dog that is old enough for our vets to alter.
Dog adoption fees are $125 for puppies (under 1), $100 for adults, and $30 for Senior dogs (8+). Dogs come microchipped, vaccinated, and altered.
It is our policy to spay or neuter any cat that is old enough for our vets to alter.
Cat adoption fees are$75 for kittens (under 1), $60 for adults, and $15 for Senior cats (11+). All of our cats are required to be indoor cats, unless otherwise specified.
