Laramie Peak Humane Society's adoption process
Additional adoption info
Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet through the Laramie Peak Humane Society. LPHS strives to provide a hassle free adoption process that provides every adopter and potential pet with the best experience possible. If you are interested in adopting a pet, please submit a complete Adoption Application as soon as possible (located here: http://douglasanimalshelter.squarespace.com). Completed Applications are processed in the order they are received. Your application must include 3 references, and your veterinarians contact information. Once received, your application will be processed, references will be checked, and a home visit (excluding cats) will be scheduled at your earliest convenience.
Please note: The adoption process consists of three steps:
1. Complete Adoption Application Submitted
2. References Checked
3. Successful Home Visit completed (excluding cats)
The adoption process takes 24-72 hours to complete. Applications continue to be accepted, and an animal remains “available” until an adoption is finalized. Animals are placed after all 3 steps are successfully completed.
It is our policy to spay or neuter any dog that is old enough for our vets to alter.
Dog adoption fees are $75 for adults, and $30 for Senior dogs (7+). Dogs come micro chipped, vaccinated, and altered. All of our dogs come with basic obedience training. When you adopt a dog from us you will receive a 50% discount for one trip to Wag N Tails grooming!
It is our policy to spay or neuter any cat that is old enough for our vets to alter.
Cat adoption fees are $50 for adults, and $15 for Senior cats (7+). Cats come microchipped, vaccinated, and altered. All of our cats are required to be indoor cats, unless otherwise specified.
