My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you're searching for a dog who's always up for an adventure, look no further, Blue is your guy! With his striking golden eyes, sleek tan coat, and big, happy smile, Blue is as handsome as he is full of life. Blue is the type of dog who will zoom around the yard with joy for one minute and then check in with you with the sweetest, most loyal expression next. Blue has that special mix of goofy playfulness and thoughtful calmness that makes him such a heart-stealing pup; he's equal parts fun and easy to love.

Watch Blue in action here!
https://youtu.be/AUWcWHMxwmE?feature=shared

Blue is around 3 years old, a wonderful time when his energy and maturity balance perfectly. He's estimated to be a Labrador retriever and husky mix (no promises with rescue pups!), which explains his adventurous spirit, athletic build, and love for the outdoors.

Blue is happiest when he's outside exploring. He thrives on long walks, hikes, and swimming. When he's in the yard, you'll often see him racing around, showing off just how fun it is to stretch those beautiful, long legs. He's a huge fan of water, pools, lakes, puddles, you name it. If there's water to splash in, Blue will be the first one there!

But don't let his adventurous spirit fool you, blue isn't always go-go-go. He's a fantastic listener, responding well to direction, heels great on leash with gentle corrections, and always knows when it's time to calm down. After a good adventure, Blue is ready to snuggle up on the couch and enjoy some relaxed time with his people.

Blue currently attends doggy daycare, where he meets all kinds of dogs. Blue can be a little bit aloof at first, preferring a calm introduction, but once he recognizes friends as they are, he's ready to play. He's a vocal player, which is too cute in action. He loves to herd and run, and zoom, but is also content sniffing around on his own. He would thrive in a home with a medium-energy female pup, but he could do just as well as an only dog in a family with very active humans.

Blue is a sweetie, but his curiosity about cats is just a little too strong, so he will need a cat-free home. We also believe Blue would do best with older children or teens, just because little kiddos may find his zoomies and playful high jumps a little more overwhelming.

Blue's ideal home would be somewhere where he can stretch those long legs! No apartments for this boy! Ideally, his owners would love hikes, runs, and water adventures! Offering him lots of structure and training because of his eagerness to learn. He could be your one-and-only adventure buddy, or you could add him right into your pack!

Blue is the perfect mix of adventure and love! He's active, outdoorsy, and playful, but he's also a quick learner, respectful, and able to calm himself down for cuddles after fun. He's confident without being overwhelming, independent yet loyal, and always up for making memories with his humans.

If you've been dreaming of a four-legged best friend to join you on trails, for a splash in the water, play in the yard, and then winding down for some calm companionship, Blue is the one. He's ready to start his next chapter. Could that be with you?

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!

We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
