My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Super Affectionate!!  Meet beautiful Nala! Nala is outgoing, confident, friendly and oh so affectionate.  She is young and strong and healthy and great little white teeth.  As of 12/18/25, Nala is getting close to being a year old.

From Nala's new foster mom, 1/18/2026: 'The pictures do not do this sweet girl justice. This striking tuxedo girl is a supermodel who also happens to have a super personality. You’ll love her jet-black coat, white paws and tuxedo and amazing white whiskers that go on forever.  She is so adorable and has beautiful eyes. Nala is so sweet and gentle. She reaches out with her little paw to get affection, Nala loves pets, kisses on her head and belly rubs. She loves to be held and snuggled with. She also loves to sit or lay with you and watch TV. Yes, she is a TV junkie. She loves playing with toys. She has turned into a great hockey player.

Nala's Update, 2/10/2026:  Nala is doing great. She has 100% come out her shell. She follows me around, loves to snuggle and cuddle. She loves to sit on my lap, as she is now, when I am on my computer. She is content to play with her toys by herself, or with me. She welcomes company and greets them when they come in. She loves looking out at the birds. She sleeps with me every night. She, as I said before is a very neat eater, no messes, also neat in her litterbox.  Whoever adopts Nala is going to have the perfect little girl.  Nala would do best in a quiet home, with no small children or other pets.

Here is a video from when Nala was in our clinic/shelter.  She loves to receive pets:  https://www.youtube.com/shorts/HepY85f8X8g .

Nala is such a good girl, and she likes to talk, she makes such cute little noises.  Are ready to visit with Nala?  Please submit our no-obligation Adoption Application for a meet and greet or to adopt:  https://forgottencats.org/adoption-application/.  Thank you!  (Foster:  Linda Q.)

More about this rescue

Founded in 2003, Forgotten Cats, Inc. is the leading trap, neuter, vaccinate, return (TNVR) nonprofit in the region. Servicing Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New Jersey, Forgotten Cats specializes in TNVR in order to humanely reduce the homeless cat population. Valuing all lives, Forgotten Cats is a no kill organization.

Forgotten Cats’ TNVR services involve working with colony caregivers to identify all cats within a colony, after which we trap, transport, sterilize, vaccinate, recuperate, and return feral cats to caregivers. Our goal is to stabilize each colony and ensure zero population growth. We achieve this by trapping and sterilizing every single cat in the entire colony.

About 20 percent of the cats that enter our clinics each year are not feral. Stray cats, or homeless domesticated cats, and feral kittens under 12 weeks old, are held and placed into our adoption network. With ten off-site adoption centers, our dedicated staff and volunteers work hard to prepare our cats for adoption and ensure they go to loving, forever homes.

Forgotten Cats serves the community by offering affordable TNVR services, low cost spay/neuter services for pet & stray cats, and spay/neuter education.

Forgotten Cats has over 700 volunteers that are committed to helping this organization fulfill its mission. We receive no government funding, and depend solely on private donations, grants, fundraising events, and bequests to complete our mission.

Since 2003, Forgotten Cats has sterilized over 200,000 cats across the region, which has prevented the birth and suffering of millions of kittens. Additionally, we have placed over 14,000 cats into loving, forever homes. At our no-kill clinic/shelters, we welcome the FIV+ & FeLV+ cats, the blind, the 3-legged, the lost, those that have been abused, and those that have been abandoned. We offer love and hope to the Forgotten Cats from all walks of life.

Vision:
We envision a day when kittens are no longer born on the streets but rather in loving homes to responsible owners.

Mission:
Our mission is to humanely reduce the homeless cat population and to stop the suffering of the thousands of kittens born to abandoned, homeless cats.

Not quite sure you are ready to be a full-time cat parent? Please consider our foster program! You can care for a cat/kitten for as little as two days, a couple of weeks, or longer. It's up to you. Please contact us! https://forgottencats.org/foster-a-cat/
