My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for a goofy, lovable sidekick with a heart-shaped nose and a serious lap dog delusion? Meet Leroy!

With his all-white coat and adorable brown-and-pink heart-shaped nose, Leroy is impossible to miss—and even harder to resist. He’s got the looks, he’s got the charm, and he’s 100% convinced he belongs in your lap. And honestly? We’re not arguing.

We believe Leroy is a Pittie and Staffie mix, around two years old—but as with all rescues, age and breed are just our best guess. What we can say with confidence is that Leroy is 100% pure joy. It's giving “head empty, no thoughts” in the very best way—just a medium-sized goofball with a big heart and even bigger personality.

Leroy is a natural comedian. Whether we were playing dress-up, snuggling on the couch, or goofing around in the yard, he kept me laughing the whole time. He’s the kind of dog who can turn a regular afternoon into an absolute joy-fest. And yes—he really does think he’s a lap dog. I couldn’t say no to that face, so we snuggled up like old pals. No regrets!

While Leroy is smart and food-motivated (hello, treat training superstar), he’s still working on perfecting his leash manners and impulse control—like any young pup. He’s learning fast and loves being praised for a job well done. With consistency and positive reinforcement, this boy will thrive. When it comes to other pets, Leroy has met a few dogs and seems to do best with calm, low-energy females. He’s not one for chaos or too much canine drama, and he’s not a fan of cats—those mysterious fluffballs are just too tempting.

Because Leroy loves to communicate using his mouth (he’s a mouther!), he’ll do best in a home without young children. He means no harm—he’s just enthusiastic about life and uses his mouth the way some people use hand gestures. Older, dog-savvy kids or adults will understand and appreciate his quirky love language.

He’d thrive in a home with a fenced yard where he can sniff, explore, and get the zoomies when the mood strikes. And when the play is done? He’s all about movie nights, couch cuddles, and being the little spoon.
Leroy would be happiest as your one and only furry BFF. With all the love and laughs he brings, trust us—you won’t feel like you’re missing a thing.

So, if you’re ready for a hilarious, affectionate, lap-loving goofball with a heart of gold and a nose to match—Leroy is waiting to steal your heart (and your couch).

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!

We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
