My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A FUN & ACTIVE FRIEND:  Approx. 11 months old / Approx. 60 lbs.

Hi there, I’m Joey!  I joined the Mostly Mutts family after being rescued from animal control and was adopted when I was about six months old.  Sadly, my adoptive family no longer has the time that a dog deserves, so I’m back with Mostly Mutts looking for my new forever family.

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I was friendly with them, so if you have a nice dog at home, let’s meet and see if we can be pals.  My former adoptive family also reported that I liked the dogs I met while I was with them. / My former family reported that I was good with their cat.  All cats are different, so I don’t know how I would be with another cat. / My former family reported that I liked the kids I met while I was with them, though I don’t recall their ages, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m described as a super sweet, friendly, energetic, happy, playful and active guy!  I love people and I’m sure you’ll love me, too!  My former family reported that I may dig out from the yard, so please don’t leave me unattended until you know that I won’t do that. / Energy level: 5-7.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have mastered the ‘sit’, ‘come’, ‘stay’, leave it’, and ‘place’ commands.  I also know how to greet friendly strangers without jumping on them and I have good door manners.  I’m a smart guy, so I’m sure you can teach me even more. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / My former family didn’t report how my potty manners were and I’ve only been back at Mostly Mutts a few days, so we’re not sure how I’m doing with this yet, so ask how it’s going.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I have a zest for life and love having a good time.  I love stuffed toys, running zoomies in the Mostly Mutts play yard and I give some kisses, too.  I look forward to lots of adventures with my new family! / I can’t think of things I don’t like yet, but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on my annual immunizations, micro-chipped and neutered.

I’m looking for a wonderful family to love and be loved by!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Thank you for your patience and support!

You may also call our phone line, 770-272-6888 or email adopt@mostlymutts.org with specific questions about any of our adoptable animals. We do require an interview, references and a contract. Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse

Please visit our website, www.mostlymutts.org for additional information about adopting a new best friend!
