My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Courtesy post: Hi there, my name is Lucy I’m a 4-year-old, spayed girl who recently joined my current family, and while they love me very much, we’ve learned that I’d truly shine best as the only dog in the home. Because they want what’s safest and happiest for everyone involved (including me!), they’re working hard to help me find the perfect forever situation—with the help of a rescue and lots of love along the way. Let me tell you a little about myself! I’m very friendly with people and absolutely adore human companionship. I’m house-trained, walk nicely on a leash, know my basic commands, and I’m super food-motivated (treats are definitely the way to my heart!). I’m affectionate, eager to please, and would love nothing more than being your loyal sidekick. While I’ve lived with other dogs in the past—including both boys and girls and even sharing cozy spaces—we’ve learned that I feel most comfortable and secure when I don’t have to share my home with another pet. An only-dog home would help me feel confident, relaxed, and truly at my best. My family is committed to keeping me safe and happy and is willing to foster me for as long as needed while a rescue helps find my forever home. They’re especially hoping to avoid me ever going back to a shelter, because they believe—just like I do—that I deserve a bright future full of love. If you think I might be the perfect fit for your home or are part of a rescue that can help, please reach out to lucysparents2025@gmail.com Thank you so much for reading my story and helping me take the next step toward my happily ever after.December 21, 2025, 2:51 pm

More about this rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!
