My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Gary - a bulldog mix with the emotional depth of a soap opera star and a single life goal: YOUR UNDIVIDED ATTENTION.

Gary loves affection from ANYONE willing to give it...and passionately campaigns for it from everyone who isn't. Strangers? Future best friends. Neighbors? Obviously here for him. If hands are available, Gary believes they should be petting him. If they're not, he'll gently (and sometimes dramatically) remind you of your responsibilities.

He's sturdy, charming, and completely unapologetic about his need to be admired. Gary thrives on praise, cuddles, and being the center of whatever room he waddles his way into. In return, he offers endless entertainment, loyal companionship, and the kind of love that only a bulldog with zero personal boundaries can provide.

If you're looking for a dog who will make you feel like the most important person in the world - whether you asked for it or not - Gary is ready to move in and take over your heart, your couch, and your lap.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1941 by the third female graduate from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, SAVE is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter dedicated to protecting the health and welfare of homeless companion animals in the greater Princeton area and beyond. Through six core programs of Rescue, Shelter, Health and Welfare, Spay/Neuter, Foster and Adoption.

The SAVE shelter facility has the capacity to house upwards of 100 animals at a time (approximately 75 cats and 25 dogs). The shelter exceeds no-kill benchmark standards and ensures that adoptable animals facing adversity are given a lifeline, a chance to flourish, and the promise of a better tomorrow.
