Meet Tiffany!
Tiffany is a 2-year-old, 17-pound female Miniature Aussie from Alabama! Tiffany is a sweet, low-energy, and loyal pup.
She is continuing to adjust during her time in a quieter Brooklyn neighborhood. She enjoys being a shadow to her person, giving sweet kisses, and working out the treats from her kong.
She is learning basic training like "sit", and while she doesn't seem to know many commands, she is a very good girl, looking to be taught new things and receive praise. She shows off an adorable wiggle butt when she knows you're proud of her. During her time with her foster family, she has been working on house training. In just a short time she went from being unsure about the outside all together, and missing the pee pad inside, to using the bathroom outside and pee pads inside. Right now she is being trained on both pee pads and pottying outside, as she becomes more comfortable with the big world outdoors.
Tiffany is still working on learning how to walk on a leash. She is not reactive and does not pull, just a little wary of all the commotion that may happen during walks, and sometimes opts to go back inside. Tiffany has been getting used to being outside and has liked being in a quiet enclosed area where she can sniff the air and take it all in calmly. She has started to enjoy walks with low stimulation. Who doesn't love a quiet morning walk?
Her forever family will need to continue working with Tiffany to reinforce and advance the progress she's been making to become a more confident dog.
She has done well in her crate at night, as long as she can still keep her eye on her person. She has shown some signs of separation anxiety when left alone in her crate during the day. She's working on this through intermittent crate time during the day while her foster family is home. She loves to be cozy with her foster family.
Tiffany is looking for a quiet, low-key family with someone who is home most of the time. She appreciates downtime and active moments in the form of leisurely walks. She would do best with another small older dog at home to show her the way. She has not shown interest in playing with dogs yet and would be extremely respectful of a low-key older dog about her size or smaller. She has been a perfect guest to the 7-year old resident dog in her foster home.
We would recommend Tiffany go to a home with older children or no children.
Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella, heartworm negative, spayed/netuered, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
