Chico is a very nervous little Chihuahua who came from a hoarding situation and is still learning that the world can be gentle. He’s timid with new people and environments, but underneath that fear is a small dog who wants to feel safe, loved, and understood.
Chico will need a very patient home—one that moves at his pace and celebrates the little victories. A more confident dog in the home would be a huge comfort for him, as he takes cues from other dogs and feels braver with a steady companion by his side.
With time, kindness, and a calm environment, Chico has the potential to blossom into a loyal, deeply bonded companion. If you have a soft spot for the shy ones and the patience to help a special dog heal, Chico may be the perfect little soul to welcome into your heart. 🐾Adoption Hours are Thursday through Sunday from noon to 5pm. You do not need an appointment to come by and meet animals during adoption hours.

Our adoption process is based on making the right match. Though people can apply for a specific animal, we would like to know more about lifestyle and match a pet with that lifestyle. For example, we would not want to match an active dog with an inactive one. Therefore, our primary concern is the interview process and getting to know the potential adopter.
