My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Vixen!

Vixen is a three year old hound mix and we promise she's smaller than she looks. Like, a lot smaller. She weighs about 42lbs and we have no idea where she's carrying all of it because she's a petite princess.

Vixen is a shy girl that likes to get to know you before she throws herself all over you. Don't get her wrong, she'll absolutely come say hello and give you a few cursory sniffs and some polite tail wags but she likes to hold her cards close to her chest. She's a nervous girl but it's not her fault. Change is scary and the transition from a home to shelter life isn't easy.

If Vixen's big Bambi eyes don't win you over, maybe her manners will. Look at that delicately lifted paw! She's good on a leash, good for handling, and she's a good listener (most of the time).

Vixen is selective about the dogs she likes to spend her time with. Bouncy, exuberant dogs are just too much for her. She much prefers the calmer type because those overly excitable dogs can just be EXHAUSTING to be around. She's afraid of cats, like she's scared of most things at the moment, and prefers to actively avoid them. Kids 12+ would be best so she doesn't get the vapors and have to retreat to the seaside like a nervous Victorian lady.
