Meet little Arnold! He just arrived in Colorado 12/17 and is living in a foster home in Aurora with three other dogs. So far he is very shy and nervous but incredibly sweet. He will need a patient adopter who is willing to go at his pace to help him learn he is safe as he gains confidence in his new home.
Arnold came from a hoarding situation in New Mexico and arrived at the shelter incredibly matted and neglected. Despite his past, he loves humans once he trusts you and is a very sweet and affectionate boy.
**We think he would do best in a home with another dog and with adopters committed to training to help him come out of his shell and become more confident. He would likely not do well with young children as loud noises and sudden movements scare him.
**Despite being 8 lbs and a great size to bring everywhere, Arnold needs structure and routine and is NOT a dog that should be brought everywhere with his humans. This would create a lot of anxiety and set him up for failure. He might be confident enough to do some outings in a few months, but he might not be. Arnold is a nervous pup who needs to feel safe at home and he needs adopters that will protect his space.
-Treat motivated and learned "sit" and "come" quickly
-Crate trained and sleeps quietly through the night
-Potty trained with a consistent routine
-Loves to cuddle once he trusts you
-Great with other dogs and has done well around cats and chickens in New Mexico
-Learned to walk on leash but at this time he will only walk if he is with other dogs that he can follow
He is neutered already, up to date on vaccines, and received a dental cleaning before arriving in Colorado. All POSO dogs come with two free private training sessions to help set you up for success!
