My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello new friends, I’m Colby!

I’m a sweet 13-year-old Yorkie boy weighing 13 pounds, and I’m proof that life can change in a flash! I was saved by an amazing local vet who saw my worth when my previous owner wanted to give up on me – and now I’m ready to show my forever family just how much love I have to give.

I absolutely LOVE car rides with the wind in my hair – there’s nothing quite like feeling the breeze and watching the world go by! I’m also a big fan of toys and I love to play with them. I may need a refresher on housebreaking, but I do best with a routine and I’m totally willing to learn. I’m good with other dogs and cats and tend to just ignore them – I’m pretty easygoing that way!

Here’s something important about me: I connect better with women. My past wasn’t always kind to me, and I feel safer and more comfortable with the ladies. I’m looking for a patient, gentle home where I can continue to blossom and trust.

At 13 years old, I may be a senior, but I’ve still got so much love to give! I’m absolutely adorable (if I do say so myself), and I’m just waiting for someone to see how special I am!

More about this rescue

Florida Coastal Cocker Rescue (FCCR) is a non-profit organization located in SW Florida. We are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing Cocker Spaniels throughout the state of Florida and neighboring states. We rely 100% on donations and volunteers to help us take care of our dogs. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines and rabies, heartworm tested, flea and heartworm treatment, and microchip.

FCCR carefully screens all of our potential furever and foster homes to ensure that our pups will have safe and loving homes. Some of our dogs come from shelters and abusive situations and we want to make sure that they will only see love the rest of their lives.
