My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Atlas is a gorgeous 1 and a half year old Basset hound/ Beagle mix who came to our rescue with his Mom and Dad as well as his 2 siblings, Cotton and Bear after being left to starve in cages at a house where a puppy mill was getting started! He was spayed on 12/17/2025 and is now up to date on all vetting! He was very scared of humans when he first arrived, but after just a little bit of care and feeling loved, he is thriving and looks amazing, and most importantly, he now believes he is a lap dog and wants nothing but cuddles all day! He loves running and playing with any toys he can get his mouth on and just has a great personality all around and will be a wonderful dog for any family! We are a private run facility supported by public donations. The first step to adopt is to submit an application on richardsonrescue.org. We review them everyday, except for Sunday (Great customer service is our goal). Once your application is approved, you may then call for an appointment.

VISITS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY WITH AN APPROVED APPLICATION.

More about this rescue

Nestled in twelve acres of country and woods is a place for animals that are hardest to help, BIGGER dogs, abused pets and puppy mill dogs. They need more time, more space and more love than many full rescues can provide. Their adoptions sometimes take months, but they get the room and attention that they need to get back on all four feet. The problem.... not many people are willing to give them a chance. We also offer low cost spay and neutering when funding allows.
