Meet Missy – Mama Dog Ready for Her Happy Ending.
Missy came to the shelter as a devoted mama with a whole crew of puppies, and now that every one of her babies has found a home, it’s finally her turn to be the one who gets spoiled. This sweet girl loves to explore the world with her nose. She enjoys taking in her surroundings and then happily coming over for pets when she’s ready for affection. If you sit with her long enough, she may even lean in for a curious little face sniff — her gentle version of a kiss. Missy has a calm, easygoing presence that makes you want to slow down and enjoy the moment with her. She’s affectionate in a quiet, endearing way and truly enjoys spending time with her people.
After spending her first chapter caring for everyone else, Missy is ready for a forever family who will cherish her, love her, and make her the priority she deserves.

All shelter locations are conducting animal viewing and adoptions on a first come, first serve basis. We are not able to move a pet from one location to another for your viewing.
The adoption fee is waived for all available pets in care and in foster homes. Standard adoption practices will still be in place, including background checks.

The City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department (AWD) expanded the shelter days of service to seven days a week with operational hours of 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and pet viewing from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m for both the east and west side shelter locations.
