My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Kasha

She is a one year old shepherd/husky mix.

Kasha is great with kids, other dogs, cats and loves all peoples!

Kasha is house trained and crate trained. She is good on and off leash

Kasha is always happy and loving! When she is ready to relax she will cuddle. She plays hard and has lots of energy.

Kasha will need a home that will include her in activities that will help her use up energy. Do you like to jog? She would love to jog with you. Do you have kids that enjoy being outside? She would love to be outside with them.

Kasha does not react to other dogs' bad behavior but will wait patiently. She is always happy and makes you feel like you are the best thing in the world when you come home.

Her bad points are few. She is an “over kisser” and will lick when she is happy, whats attention or is bored. Her foster parents have been working on that and she is learning quickly not to lick all the time. She also jumps (working on that also) so you would need to be careful with her near really small children. Her foster parents are working on basic training and her adopters will want to continue that training. The husky in her does not always want to come when called (Treats work wonders!!!)

Her foster parents say she is one of the best fosters they have had in their home and she really deserves a home of her own!

Go meet their pets

Foster folks will work with adopters to find a time and location to meet the future pet. This can include bringing the pet to a Meet & Greet, meeting at the foster's home or the adopters home.

More about this rescue

ARVSS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue in Madison & surrounding Dane County WI committed to rescuing dogs in need and supporting communities without access to shelters. Our goal is to help find resources for the abandoned and often times injured animals.

Most of our adoptable dogs are transported from Light Shine Dog Rescue in South Dakota from overcrowded situations. We bring dogs into the rescue that need medical attention that other rescues are not able to due to our close work with a veterinary clinic.

All donations and funds raised are put toward the medical care and resources support the animals while in the rescue until they find their forever homes.
Medical care includes vet visits, spay/neuter surgeries, vaccines, treatment ailments (manage, worms, burn treatments, etc.) and surgeries to repair breaks or fractures the animals come into the rescue with.
Food and flea/tick and heart worm are also provided for the animal’s care while in the rescue.
