Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Stevie is the sweet girl with a bit of sass. She will steal your heart right along with your socks. Stevie was found at a dump having to fend for herself which has made her a bit protective of her food and bones.
Stevie will need to go to a home that will understand and respect this about her. This is a very workable non-issue as long as you handle it appropriately. She is in a foster home with her sister and 3 other dogs with no issue.
Stevie is very treat motivated (she takes treat very nicely) and trains easily. She is gentle and well mannered. She is crate trained and housebroken in her foster home (when she gets to her forever home it may possibly take some time again).
Stevie’s favorite things- bones, cuddles, she loves to have quick cuddles, running and playing with her sister, Winnie. Stevie absolutely loves her older foster dog siblings and would love to have another dog in her forever home. Stevie would do best in a house with children 12 years and older.
These sisters have really bonded through their experiences and time spent together. It would be great to adopt them together, but willing to split for the right homes.

If you have current pets or have multiple members in your family we recommend doing a sleepover to ensure all animals and family members feel comfortable with the new potential addition.

Go meet their pets
Foster folks will work with adopters to find a time and location to meet the future pet. This can include bringing the pet to a Meet & Greet, meeting at the foster's home or the adopters home.

More about this rescue
ARVSS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue in Madison & surrounding Dane County WI committed to rescuing dogs in need and supporting communities without access to shelters. Our goal is to help find resources for the abandoned and often times injured animals.
Most of our adoptable dogs are transported from Light Shine Dog Rescue in South Dakota from overcrowded situations. We bring dogs into the rescue that need medical attention that other rescues are not able to due to our close work with a veterinary clinic.
All donations and funds raised are put toward the medical care and resources support the animals while in the rescue until they find their forever homes.
Medical care includes vet visits, spay/neuter surgeries, vaccines, treatment ailments (manage, worms, burn treatments, etc.) and surgeries to repair breaks or fractures the animals come into the rescue with.
Food and flea/tick and heart worm are also provided for the animal’s care while in the rescue.
