Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Mika is a 3 year old medium sized mix with an easy going personality. She loves people and does well with children. She is somewhat aloof with other dogs and prefers to just mind her business most of the time instead of interacting. She has been fine with dogs of various sizes and temperaments, and chooses to avoid conflict. Though she is laid back in the house, she does enjoy training and has a high prey drive.
The perfect home for Mika would be with a family who enjoys being active and engaging with her. She loves being around people, whether she's just hanging out or going for an adventure. Her mild temper and medium size makes her very easy to have tag along with the family during day to day activities. A fenced in yard is a plus since she does love to chase critters, and is extremely smart and able to escape if left unattended. She has high food drive and does great with consistent recall training.
She is crate trained but also is not destructive when left out. As long as she has a couch to hang out on, she'll be content on her own! If crated, she does best when her crate is located in an area where she can see her people. She's also very quite and rarely barks or whines inside or outside.

Go meet their pets
Foster folks will work with adopters to find a time and location to meet the future pet. This can include bringing the pet to a Meet & Greet, meeting at the foster's home or the adopters home.

More about this rescue
ARVSS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue in Madison & surrounding Dane County WI committed to rescuing dogs in need and supporting communities without access to shelters. Our goal is to help find resources for the abandoned and often times injured animals.
Most of our adoptable dogs are transported from Light Shine Dog Rescue in South Dakota from overcrowded situations. We bring dogs into the rescue that need medical attention that other rescues are not able to due to our close work with a veterinary clinic.
All donations and funds raised are put toward the medical care and resources support the animals while in the rescue until they find their forever homes.
Medical care includes vet visits, spay/neuter surgeries, vaccines, treatment ailments (manage, worms, burn treatments, etc.) and surgeries to repair breaks or fractures the animals come into the rescue with.
Food and flea/tick and heart worm are also provided for the animal’s care while in the rescue.
