My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bane! 💙

Bane is a handsome, approximately 3-year-old Pit Bull with endless energy and love to share. Some of his favourite things include time with his people, soaking up all the pets and affection, exploring the outdoors and sniffing around the yard. He is also a big fan of a Kong or a treat puzzle! If you're looking for a smart and loyal companion, Bane could be your perfect match.

Bane is an energetic, strong boy who will do best in an active home that can keep up with his zest for life. He needs regular physical exercise as well as mental enrichment to help him stay happy and balanced. Because of his strength, Bane can be powerful on leash and will require an adopter who is confident and capable of handling him.

Bane would greatly benefit from working with an AnimalKind trainer using positive reinforcement to help him learn leash skills, manners, and build on his training overall. With structure, consistency, and guidance, he has great potential to thrive.

Bane is looking for a home where he can be the only animal. He does not get along with other dogs and has a high prey drive, so a quiet neighborhood with minimal encounters with other animals would be ideal for him.

In the right home, Bane will be an incredibly devoted companion who gives endless love and affection in return. He's searching for someone who understands his needs and is ready to invest in helping him be the best version of himself.

*** Please acknowledge local bylaws for pit bull and bully type breeds. Cities including (not limited to) Richmond, Burnaby and West Vancouver may have certain restrictions in place. ***

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

    Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

    Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

    Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

    1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

    2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

    3. Freedom from distress

    4. Freedom from discomfort

    5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
