My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gabby is a striking black and white cat with expressive markings and a name that hints at a talkative personality - though she’s currently playing it a little quiet. Recently arrived from Salinas, Gabby is still adjusting to her new surroundings and taking things at her own thoughtful pace.

While she may not be the first to greet you at the door just yet, there’s a gentle, observant energy to Gabby that suggests she’s simply taking it all in before making her move. With patience and a calm environment, her sweet and social side will start to shine through - just like her classic black and white coat.

From the Salad Bowl of the World to the big city, Gabby is working up the courage to show her full self. If you believe in giving shy souls the space they need to bloom, Gabby may be the quiet companion who slowly but surely becomes the heart of your home.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1868, The SF SPCA is a community-supported nonprofit dedicated to saving, protecting and caring for cats and dogs. We do this through immediate care of animals that are homeless, ill or in need of an advocate, but we also work to educate the community, reduce the number of unwanted kittens and puppies through spaying/neutering, and improve the quality of life for animals and their companions.
