My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tori!

A spirited five-year-old German Shepherd/Siberian Husky mix currently in Malibu, CA, whose essence is pure sunshine wrapped in a sleek tan and black coat with a heart full of fetch-loving joy. Though her records estimate her at five, her boundless energy and playful nature suggest she might just be a youthful soul around two years old, according to her vet, and honestly, Tori seems to believe it too!

Tori wakes up every day ready to seize the world, one tennis ball at a time. She lives for her daily games of fetch, not just chasing the ball with gusto but proudly bringing it back every time like it’s her job (and oh, she takes it seriously!). Her love for the outdoors is matched only by her loyalty, she bonds deeply with her people and thrives in a home where structure, consistency, and play go hand in paw.

Weighing around 50 pounds, Tori is medium-sized but has a big presence. She’s house-trained, spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. She knows her commands (sit, stay, wait, and down) and her recall is impressively strong, especially during walks. Her caregivers even use her beloved ball as a calming tool when passing other dogs. While she has shown reactivity, especially to small or off-leash dogs, Tori responds well to clear boundaries and thrives with positive reinforcement. She previously coexisted peacefully with an older dog given slow introductions and separate mealtimes, but she’s currently looking for a home where she can be the only pet.

Tori is affectionate, endlessly playful, and loves human attention. She’s friendly with strangers, quick to offer tail wags and warm snuggles. She does well when left alone for short periods but is happiest when she knows her routine. Meals, walks, fetch, and bedtime cuddles! She’s a bit of a jumper when excited, so continued training is part of her journey.

Tori needs a new loving home with a fenced yard, daily exercise, and someone ready to embrace her playful spirit and continue nurturing her growth. Could your heart (and backyard) be the space where Tori thrives next?

If you're ready to toss a ball and build a bond, reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com, Tori’s waiting to fetch your heart!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our ultimate goal is to unite as many animals with loving pet parents as possible, so we strive to make it easy to adopt a dog or cat you have fallen in love with. All we ask is that you fill out an adoption application so that we have all the information we need to determine that you'll be able to provide a safe and compassionate home to one of our rescued pets. Once approved, all you need to do is sign our adoption agreement form and provide an adoption donation so that we can continue to save more animals every day and unite them with families just like yours.
