Jaspy is a sweet, shy guy who just needs a little time to feel comfortable — but once he does, his playful, loving personality shines through. Through the fence, he’s very dog-friendly, greeting new friends with wagging tails and adorable play bows.
He’s smart and knows how to sit for treats, and while he can be a bit picky, hot dogs are definitely a favorite! Jaspy is independent but also affectionate on his own terms, giving love when he’s ready. He’s good on leash and enjoys exploring his surroundings at a calm, confident pace.
With a patient family and a little time to warm up, Jaspy will make a loyal, fun, and loving companion.

All shelter locations are conducting animal viewing and adoptions on a first come, first serve basis. We are not able to move a pet from one location to another for your viewing.
The adoption fee is waived for all available pets in care and in foster homes. Standard adoption practices will still be in place, including background checks.

The City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department (AWD) expanded the shelter days of service to seven days a week with operational hours of 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and pet viewing from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m for both the east and west side shelter locations.
