My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rolo!

Rolo came into our care as a stray and is still learning that people can be friends. She is quite under socialized and prefers to relax in her hide, coming out to explore when things are calm and quiet. Rolo will need a patient, loving home that understands she may take time to feel safe and comfortable. She will eat treats out of your hand!

She is a shy girl, but with consistency and gentle interaction, Rolo has the potential to blossom. Once comfortable, rabbits can be wonderfully fun and affectionate companions. Rolo would do best in a quiet home with a predictable routine and minimal noise. She may do well with older, respectful children who understand her need for space.

Rolo is litter box trained and uses it almost exclusively. She is a very clean and tidy bunny!

Like most rabbits, Rolo does not enjoy being picked up. She will thrive in a large enclosure with plenty of enrichment to keep her active and curious. As a young bunny, she will enjoy toys, activities, and safe items to chew on, such as wooden blocks and chew toys.

With patience, love, and the right environment, Rolo could make a wonderful companion for the right home.

If our sweet Rolo sounds like a good fit for you and your home, please apply online!
Please note: we require photos of your enclosure with all applications. After filling out the online pre-adoption questionnaire, please email the photos to the West Vancouver branch.

The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
