My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cooper
ID 15706 – Kennel 47
American Pit Bull Terrier mix – White and brown – Male – 5 years old – 57 lb
Arrived December 15 – Up to date on vaccines – Heartworm positive – Will be neutered prior to adoption

Cooper is a sweet, shy soul who is quietly struggling in the shelter and hoping someone will notice him in time. He’s a gentle boy who takes a little while to warm up, but once he does, his tender heart shines through in the most touching way. Cooper walks politely on a leash, appears to be house trained, and enjoys calm moments where he can feel safe and reassured.

Cooper is heartworm positive, but that doesn’t define him or hold him back. His treatment is straightforward, and with a loving home, rest, and proper care, he can make a full recovery. The shelter staff can guide you through the process, and foster-to-adopt is a wonderful option while Cooper completes his treatment.

Because of his heartworm status, Cooper urgently needs an adopter, foster, or rescue to step forward so he can begin healing outside the shelter. He deserves warmth, patience, and kindness — a soft place to land where his loyalty and sweetness can finally shine. Cooper is waiting for someone to give him the second chance he so deeply deserves.
