Meet Merry, a 2-year-old, 23-pound Beagle mix with a sweet and gentle soul. Her life began outdoors, surviving on her own until she was rescued, frightened and covered in fleas, yet remarkably sweet.
She has since been fully vetted, spayed, and is halfway through heartworm treatment, doing wonderfully.
Due to her past, Merry is shy and cautious. She needs a patient, experienced adopter who understands that trust takes time. Though she may startle at sudden movements, she is making daily progress. In just weeks, she has begun to open up and blossom.
Merry is great with other dogs and cats, fully potty trained, and kennels calmly when left alone. At home, she is quiet and easygoing, loving to lounge on the couch or nap outside. In the yard, she enjoys running and playing in the sun.
Merry would thrive in an adult-only home or one with only occasional, calm child visitors, as fast movements and loud noises frighten her. With familiarity, she may warm to regular young guests.

We work hard at trying to find homes for dogs that are homeless or scheduled to be euthanized at Harris County Animal Shelter. There are so many dog out there that are so loving and deserving of a good home. My hopes is that more people will open their hearts and homes to some of these sweet dogs❤️.
