My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Pichu!

Pichu came to the shelter as a stray after being found tied up, so his past is largely unknown. What's clear is that he's a social, wiggly dog who enjoys attention and being near people. Pichu is playful and affectionate, often greeting handlers with enthusiasm and a loose, happy body. He can get overexcited at times, especially during interactions, and is still learning how to manage his energy and excitement appropriately.

My Ideal Home

Pichu would do best in a home with adopters who are comfortable with active, energetic dogs and committed to positive, force-free training. He'll thrive with structure, clear boundaries, and outlets for both physical exercise and mental enrichment. A calm, consistent routine and guidance on appropriate play will help him succeed and settle into home life.

Good with Kids?

No young children. Pichu is recommended for a home without kids under 5 due to his mouthy play style and difficulty regulating excitement. Older, dog-savvy children who understand respectful interactions may be a better fit.

Good with Other Pets?

Pichu does not have a known history living with other pets. His behavior around other animals is still being evaluated, so slow, thoughtful introductions are important. No known history with cats.

Leash Manners

Pichu walks nicely on a loose leash and is generally focused during walks. He may become excited in stimulating situations and will benefit from continued training to help him stay calm and engaged with his handler.

Overall Health

Recovering from CIRDC.

Behavior Determination

Level 1. Pichu is friendly and social but has challenges with mouthiness and impulse control that will require ongoing training and management.

Other Fun Facts

Pichu is playful, affectionate, and loves being the center of attention. He happily rolls around, seeks pets, and enjoys staying active. With the right guidance and consistency, this energetic boy has the potential to grow into a fun and devoted companion.
