Meet Aurora 🌟

Aurora is a beautiful 1-year-old chocolate Lab who’s ready to light up her forever home! She came to us as a stray and was never reclaimed, despite efforts to contact her microchip owner. Now, she’s looking forward to a fresh start with a family of her own.

This sweet girl is very friendly and social, greeting everyone with happy energy and enthusiasm. Aurora is always excited to get out and about, and she’s a breeze to handle — easy to leash up and unleash, and she already knows how to sit. Her bright personality and eagerness make her a joy to work with.

Aurora would thrive in an active household that can keep up with her youthful energy and continue consistent basic obedience training to help her shine even more. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or learning new skills, she’s ready to be your loyal adventure buddy.

Meet and greets with your family dog and shelter dog is encouraged. Dog and cat meet and greets are not allowed.

Submit Application

Sign Adoption Contract

Pay Fee

$80 for all kitten/cat adoptions. $90 for all puppy/dog adoptions. $35 for all rabbit adoptions.

Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

The shelter is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, with adoptions closing at 4:30pm. The shelter is closed on Sundays and all government observed holidays.

City of Henderson Animal Care and Control is the only open admission animal shelter in the City of Henderson. We service the City of Henderson and the residents and animals within city limits. Our goal is to find forever homes for all adoptable animals and reunite pets with their people. We work with multiple rescue groups and allow any good adoptee to adopt from our shelter.
