My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I’m Coal—a handsome little guy with a big heart and an even bigger curiosity about the world.

I was whelped on 10/14/2025, and I’m already showing off my calm confidence. I love to snuggle up close when it’s time to relax, but don’t be fooled—I’m also playful and always ready to explore something new. New sounds? New toys? New friends? I’m in.

People say I’ve got a gentle, steady vibe. I’m curious without being wild, confident without being bossy, and I really enjoy being around my humans. Whether it’s quiet cuddle time or a fun play session, I’m happiest when I’m included.

If I don’t say so myself, I’m also quite smart. I already know how to sit (see the pic of me with my littermates) and I’m working really hard on my house training!

If you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly puppy who’s equal parts calm companion and playful explorer, I might just be your perfect match.

Additional adoption info

We strive to make the best matches between our animals and adoptive families. On dogs over a year of age we offer a 7 day trial / foster to adopt option in order for families and dogs to experience daily life and further determine if the dog/family is a good match. However, we will take back any previously adopted animals or assist families in finding homes in unforeseen circumstances that occur that the family is unable to keep the dog adopted from our rescue. We also offer continued contact and support to families of our animals when needed such as training suggestions, recommendations for vets/trainers as well as simply sharing life updates as we truly value and deeply love every animal that comes through our lives and rescue.

More about this rescue

Rachel's Rescue was founded June 1, 2023, one year after her life was suddenly and tragically taken with a single gunshot. Rachel was a vibrant young lady who had a deep, passionate love for animals especially dogs and puppies. To honor our daughter's memory and desire to save lives, we started the rescue by taking in and caring for abandoned, abused and/or neglected pups and giving them a new chance at life. We provide each pup with affection and attention, a healthy diet, medical care as needed, vaccines and microchips. All pups are altered before they are adopted into their forever homes. We continue to make sure Rachel's legacy shines bright through every happy, healthy puppy/dog that finds a forever home.
