My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am Heartworm Positive, which means I am available for foster-to-adopt while Animal Friends Alliance provides treatment. Don't worry, though, I've got a normal long life ahead of me, just need a few months of TLC and I'll be good to go! Before you ask, it's not contagious to other dogs, cats or people. Please call 970-484-8516 or email adopt@savinganimalstoday.org with questions!

Meet Caterpillar!

Caterpillar is a sweet little gal with a heart as big as her wiggles! This happy, affectionate girl absolutely adores people and would do wonderfully in a home with kids of any age. She’s always ready to greet you with a wiggly body and a big smile, and when playtime is over, she’ll happily crawl right into your lap for some cozy snuggles.

We believe Caterpillar is a pug mix, and she has all the charm to prove it—loving, playful, and full of personality. If you’re looking for a small dog who will bring nonstop joy, cuddles, and tail wags into your life, Caterpillar might just be your perfect match

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Adoptable animals are located at our Taft Campus at 2200 N Taft Hill Rd, Fort Collins, CO 80524 or for more info call 970-484-8516.

The first step to adopting a cat or dog from Animal Friends Alliance is to fill out an adoption questionnaire. You can do this online!

The next step is to pick out a cat or dog! Check out our adoptable cats and adoptable dogs for pictures and short descriptions or come into the shelter at our Taft Hill campus. We also have adoptable cats at many offsite locations.

Note: not all available cats and dogs reside at our campuses. Some are at off-site adoption partners or in foster homes. If you are interested in a particular cat or dog, please call our shelter at (970) 484-8516 to find out about their current status and location.

We do not ship animals. You are required to come and meet your new addition prior to adoption so that we can ensure a good match.

Please note that we will make a copy of the adopters’ State ID card, Driver’s License or passport at the time of adoption.
