My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Imara is a beautiful 1-year-old Shih Tzu with a striking black and grey coat and the cutest, most expressive little face. She’s a very happy, snuggly girl who loves being close to her people and enjoys “talking” when she gets excited to see you.

Imara loves other dogs and does well with cats. She is best suited for a home with older children who can respect her space. She’s affectionate, social, and would thrive in a calm, loving home where she can be spoiled and adored.

Imara was found as a stray in very rough condition, suffering from severe chemical burns on her back, a heavy flea infestation, and significant matting with hair loss. She has healed beautifully and while she does have a scar down her back from the burns, it is barely noticeable with her hair grown out. She was born with an underdeveloped eye which does not slow her down at all or require extra care.

The adoption donation varies on the age, breed and vet care provided. All of our dogs receive all necessary vaccines, spay/neuter, microchip, and dewormings. All of our long haired dogs are professionally groomed and our senior pups receive a dental. After filling out an adoption application, one of our team members will check your vet reference and set up a time for you to meet the dog. We do a home check as part of the adoption process and all members of the household (human and canine) must meet the dog prior to finalizing the adoption.

We are a 100% foster based rescue organization. We do not have a facility that you can visit as each of our dogs live in foster homes until they are adopted. We run off of donations and every dollar helps!
