My name is Fritz!

History: Fritz is a super sweet boy who arrived to rescue in desperate need of a second chance. He is such a handsome and striking boy who is ready to meet his forever home soon!

A Note from the Foster: Meet Fritz 🐾

Fritz is a super sweet dachshund with the silkiest, softest coat and the biggest heart. He absolutely lights up when he sees his kids and is truly wonderful with children. He’s gentle, affectionate, and thrives on being close to his people.

Fritz does great with other dogs and happily coexists with dogs of all ages—as long as they respect his space. He’s not a fan of dogs that are constantly in his face, which is understandable for a dachshund. We currently have a very active foster puppy, and while Fritz tolerates him, he prefers calmer canine companions. With our five other dogs, he has had zero issues. He also lives peacefully with cats and doesn’t bother them at all.

Fritz is working on his potty training. He came from a situation where he lived in a kennel, so the concept of a home is still new to him. He’s learning, making progress, and will need patience and consistency—but he is absolutely worth it. He sleeps in our bed at night and has never had an accident overnight. He is the best cuddler you could ask for and loves being close. When we’re away or if he can’t sleep with us, he does well in his kennel.

Like a true dachshund, Fritz has recently found his voice. He’s generally quiet, but shared walls may not be the best fit long-term. That said, we’ve only heard him bark while in his kennel—otherwise, he’s a pretty easygoing little guy and will make a great addition to any family!
