My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gare-Bear may be a very big boy, but his heart is even bigger—and much softer. This lovable gentle giant has a calm, easygoing nature that puts everyone at ease the moment they meet him. He’s friendly with new people and prefers a peaceful pace of life, making him a wonderful companion for someone who wants a relaxed, loving dog.

Gare-Bear is happiest lounging by your side, soaking up the sun, or resting on a cozy bed. He enjoys slow, meandering strolls and isn’t in a rush to go anywhere. One of his sweetest quirks is carrying his toys around like little treasures. Despite his impressive size, Gare-Bear is tender, affectionate, and incredibly gentle companion.

If you’ve ever wanted a big dog with the soul of a soft, quiet sweetheart, Gare-Bear is ready to show you just how kind and comforting a giant can be. 💛

More about this rescue

Founded in 1990, Nuzzles and Co (formerly Friends of Animals Utah) was just a small group of animal lovers lobbying for a new shelter facility. Today, we are a full-fledged animal rescue and rehabilitation organization with an adoption center, dedicated staff and board of trustees, and a 15,000 sq. ft. facility that includes a full veterinary suite, indoor and outdoor training spaces, miles of hiking trails, and a community cat room with an attached "catio."
