My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet NOVA ✨ About 55 pounds of love, wiggles, and couch-snuggle energy. Nova is 2 years old, turning 3 on February 17th, and she’s spayed and ready to find her forever home. She is a certified cuddle bug who believes personal space is optional once you sit down. If you’re looking for a dog who will happily curl up with you after a walk, she’s your girl. She loves to play, go on walks, and chase a ball like it personally offended her. Fetch is a favorite sport, and she brings enthusiasm every single time. Nova does great with other dogs and even cats, making her a wonderful companion in a multi-pet home. She can be a little protective over her toys, but that’s her only real quirk. She hasn’t been around kids, so a home without young children would be best. Sweet, loyal, playful, and full of love, Nova is ready to trade her current zip code for a forever family and a spot on your couch If interested in meeting Nova please contact foster mom: Hope Rosales (619)627-3790 hoperosales555@gmail.comDecember 30, 2025, 12:28 am

Additional adoption info

If we are adopting out a dog who has been trained the adopter must agree to one training session the day they adopt the dog (coming home). If we decide additional training sessions will be needed we will advise the adopter prior to adoption.

More about this rescue

We are a veteran-run dog rescue based in San Diego, California. Our goal is to change the rescue world. We adopt our dogs to any loving and qualified homes, but we also provide ESAs for military veterans. With The Heroic Tail’s model, we are not only able to rescue dogs from high-kill shelters who happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, but we are also able to help the dogs deemed “unadoptable” and give them a better chance at a happy and healthy life!
