My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, I’m William. I may look calm and collected, but I’ve had a bit of a journey getting here. I was found as a stray, so my past is a mystery. What I do know is that I’m ready to turn the page and start a much brighter chapter. Because the world hasn’t always been gentle with me, I might need a little peace and quiet while I settle into a new home. I do best when things move at a patient, understanding pace, where I can feel safe enough to be myself. Once I do, you’ll start to see my true personality shine through. With time, TLC, and kind adopters who understand that trust takes patience, a truly beautiful bond can blossom between us. I may be a bit reserved at first, but I promise my future is full of love—especially if you’re willing to share it with me. Could you be the calm, caring home I’ve been waiting for?

More about this shelter

The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society was founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1949. The Humane Society has a publicly-tendered contract with the City of Windsor to provide animal control and basic shelter services in the City.
